Born March 30, 1927 in Peoria to Hubert and Pearl (Waller) Johnson, she married Floyd Pearl Alexander on November 29, 1946 in Peoria. He died March 26, 2008 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sherry Peterson; one son, Roger Alexander; one grandson, Eric Brown and two sisters, Delores Caugheny and Janelle Friend.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia Jean ( James) Brown of Creve Coeur; one adopted daughter, Bonnie Greiner of Oregon; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; one brother, William Johnson of Peoria and Patricia Ward of Mapleton.
A homemaker, Norma Jean was a 50 year member of TOPS and a 20 plus year member of K.O.P.S (keep off pounds sensibly).
Norma Jean loved working jigsaw puzzles, crocheting and playing cards.
She was 50-plus year member of North Pekin Church of the Nazarene,where she taught Sunday School and was steward of the church, which she loved dearly. She was a former member of Faith Missionary Church in Peoria.
A gathering celebrating Norma Jean’s life will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday November 7, 2020 at the North Pekin Church of the Nazarene, 126 S Main St, North Pekin. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
