Born November 24, 1950 in Peoria to Lyle Cotton and Lillian (Goll) Cotton-McCulloch, he married Linda Terrell on October 10, 1970 in Peoria. She died June 15, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lyle Cotton and Terry Cotton; and two sisters, Judith Cotton and JoAnn Cotton.
Surviving are two sons, Leslie Cotton of Peoria and Franklin Cotton of Ina; five grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Malcolm) Kidd of East Peoria, Brenda (Courtland) Brower of North Pekin, Patricia (Bruce) McCree of Creve Coeur and one brother, Michael (Sandy) Cotton of Peoria Heights.
Ray was a machinist at Acme/Standex for 35 years, retiring in 2010.
He enjoyed going fishing and to casino’s.
A celebration of Ray’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
