Ronald William Owen

Born April 16, 1948 in Danville to Lambert Wayne and Lola Owen, he married Margaret Ann Rembold on October 27, 1988. She died August 2, 2021 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are five children who will carry on his legacy of kindness and compassion, William Owen of Chicago, Robert Owen of Peoria, Holly Nemeth of Chicopee, Massachusetts, Heather Owen of Peoria, Shannon (Brian) Thousand of Peoria. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, Michael Owen, Levi Thomas, Eli Rogers, Niklaus Thousand, Devin Thousand and Jaden Thousand, each who held a special place in his heart. He also leaves one brother, Rodney (Rose) Owen of Lomita, California; his sister-in-law, Marsie (Jason) Gale of East Peoria; his brother-in-law, John (Kristin) Rembold, Jr. of East Peoria and several nieces and nephews.

Ron had proudly served in the United States Navy.

He worked for Export Packaging in Bartonville for many years. He previously had worked at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Ron was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and will be remembered for his loving nature and strong family values. Together with his wife, Margaret, they created a warm and welcoming home fille with love.

Ron loved watching movies.
