

Born December 10, 1934 in Missouri to John and Clara (Talbot) Christian, she married Chester “Chet” W. Stasz. He died November 27, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Veronica Stasz; son-in-law, George Skinner; one brother, John Christian; and two sisters, Leona Bolin and Grace McMahon.
Surviving are her nine children, Sandra Lynn Siler of Bloomington, John Chester Stasz of Creve Coeur, Janet Anne (William) Smith of East Peoria, William Joseph Stasz of Peoria, Michael Alan (Tammy) Stasz of North Pekin, Walter Gerard Stasz of Dallas, Texas, Mary Theresa Skinner of NaVarre, Florida, Mark Andrew Stasz of Chatham and Robert David (Amanda) Stasz of East Peoria; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Helen Wilson of Florida.
For eight years, Rose worked as a charge nurse at Bel Wood Nursing Home in Peoria, retiring in 1994. Previously, she had worked at other area nursing homes.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting, and needlepoint. She also enjoyed tending to her veggie garden and reading westerns and mystery books. Rose was a deeply dedicated mother, she would do anything for her children, no matter what it was.
Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2025 at Point Pleasant Cemetery in Long Creek. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
