

Stanley was born on October 16, 1935 in White Hall, a son of Truman A. and Ines Sarah (Richard) Ransom. He married Ruth Ann Stewart on August 23, 1958 in Carrollton. She preceded him in death on March 25, 1998.
He was also preceded by his parents; one brother, Ronald Ransom; and one sister, Virginia Bettis.
Stanley is survived by one son, Steven (Sheila) Ransom of East Peoria; one granddaughter, Rebecca Ransom of Chicago; three sisters, Wanda Hester, Linda Sue Martin and Ruby Bowers.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Stanley later worked for Caterpillar, Inc. as an experimental foundryman for 25 years. After retiring, he worked for Blume Construction as a foreman.
Stanley enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, gardening, UAW Trips and bowling.
His visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Burial with full military honors will follow at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
