

Born January 14, 1959 in Peoria to John M. and D. Jean (VanGundy) Brown, she married Ward Walker January 7, 1993 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Jason D. (Brandy) Phillips of Sonora, Kentucky, Shawn (Josie) Sines of Creve Coeur and Johan D.(Megan) Smart of Mackinaw; three daughters, Sheena J. Sines of Mapleton, Jacquelyn Walker of Peoria Heights and Amy Walker of Mapleton; 17 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Becky (Glen) Morris of Bradenton, Florida; one brother, Fred A. Brown of Peoria;
She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Alexis Phillips and one brother, Frank Brown.
A homemaker, Valerie enjoyed playing Bunco, reading, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devote Christian and believer.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Graveside services will be held on October 29, at 10:00 a.m. at Roberts Cemetery in Morton. A celebration of Valerie’s life will be held Saturday, October 29 from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Creve Coeur Community Center in Creve Coeur.
