

Born July 9, 1957 in Peoria to William Harris and Lois Eileen (Sill) Adams, Sr., he married Wendy G. Nannie on November 25, 1974 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Cassie (Dennis “D.J.”) Hammer of Creve Coeur and Jamie (Jared) Teegarden of Spring Bay; three grandchildren, Colten (Bayli) Waldemar, Evagail Hammer and Sawyer Teegarden; three brothers, William Harris (Carol) Adams, Jr. of East Peoria, Harris Garland (Peggy) Adams of Peoria and Stan (Laura) Adams of Marquette Heights and three sisters, Betty (Eugene) Dozard of Washington, Julie (Bob Weaver) Stoecker Adams of Quincy and Connie Adams of Farmington.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronnie Adams and Kenneth Adams.
Wayne worked for Komastu for 40 years, retiring as superintendent of the welding department in 2019.
He was passionate about fishing and was a longtime Bass tournament fisherman. Wayne was a past angler of the year and a member of the Illinois Bass 25. He also was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He liked watching sports in general, especially basketball.
Wayne was devoted to his family and loved his grandchildren.
A celebration of life gathering will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 9, 2023 at Creve Coeur Christian Church. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
