Born July 17, 1938 in Wyaconda, Missouri to Ronald A. and Wilma C. (Whitehead) Small, she married Elgin Harold “Bud” Huber on January 22, 1981 in Mapleton. He died February 3, 2020 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, “JR” Trapper and one sister, Myrna Mathias.
Surviving are five daughters, Theresa (Joseph) Genusa and Lois (Robert) Baughman, both of East Peoria, Rose Ann (Brian) Cole and Roxann (Bobby) Tennison, both of Peoria and Brianna Trapper of Morton; two sons, John “Chris” (Maria “Lena”) Trapper and Robert “Bobby” (Star) Winchell, Jr. both of East Peoria; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She had worked at Jumer’s Castle Lodge for 12 years in the office and as director of catering, retiring in 2001.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Wilda enjoyed basket weaving, painting pictures and sewing.
Wilda was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Creve Coeur, where her private funeral due to COVID-19 will be Saturday, April 17, 2021. Pastor Dave Lynn will officiate. Burial will be at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.
