Barbara Jane Harper, age 73, passed away March 31, 2025 due to her heartbreak of missing her one true love and husband Norman, who preceded her in death earlier this year. She married her longtime friend and love, Norman Eugene Harper, on December 31, 1970.
Barbara was born in Charleston West Virginia in 1951. She was the apple of LC and Elizabeth Hanna’s eye.
Barbara loved people who got her quirkiness. She loved to make jewelry, sew, garden and shop. She also loved to steal the spot light from her siblings because you were either living in her world or you were just passing by it.
For many years Barbara worked in telecommunications industry. She first started as a clerk in state government and then quickly transitioned to a clerk at the C&P Telephone Company. She had continued success and worked in the telecommunications industry until the company changed hands to Frontier Communications.
After her retirement, her life was changed for the better when she became a grandma. Her passion was to watch, teach and nurture her granddaughters: Autumn, Hailey, Hanna and Georgia Harper anytime she could spend time with them.
Barbara is survived by her brother John Hanna (Kay), sister Ann Bowen (Emmett), sons Andrew (Cari) and Matthew (Maggie) Harper, grandchildren Hanna, Autumn, Hailey and Georgia. All of these she loved deeply.
Celebration of Barbara's life will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor John Smith officiating.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
