Mrs Bettie Arthur

Pernell (Lawrence E Pernell Jr), went home to be with the Lord on May 23, 2025 after a

short illness. Her final moments were spent peacefully with her loved ones gathered

around her at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston West Virginia.

Known for her willingness to serve others and kindness, Bettie will be dearly missed by

all who knew her. Bettie’s family ask that she be remembered for the joy she brought to

others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by her 3 Children, 5

Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. She was

preceded in death by Leo Kermit Arthur Jr (Husband), Joshua Kyle Hilbert (Grandson)

and Joshua Kyle Hilbert Jr (Great Grandson).

Bettie was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a member

of the GFWC-WV Capitol Woman’s Club. Bettie was known for her kind and loving

heart, especially to those in need of a warm place to sleep and a hot meal. She was

known and loved by most as Gmaw. Someone always willing to give a hand and a

smile.

A funeral service will be held at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home 5233 Rocky Fork Rd, Cross Lanes, WV., Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm. Family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
