Betty Louise Goldsmith passed away on March 10, 2024. Raised in Charleston, WV she was the daughter of Kermit and Goldie Henson and had been a resident of Dunbar, WV since 1959. She is survived by her son Doug Goldsmith and wife Wendy, daughter Tanya Vititoe and husband Otie, three grandchildren: Caleb Goldsmith, Lilly Meighan and Josh Goldsmith, one great grandson: Desmond Meighan, and two nieces: Lisa Carnell (Jay) and Robin Mitchum (David). She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, brother Jim Henson and sister Loretta Patton. Betty was a devout Christian and accomplished pianist who played for the Friendly Four Quartet beginning in the early 1950s at churches and gospel sings all around the region. We will miss her determined spirit, intellect and ability to live on her own until the end. She requested a private funeral with only immediate family members in attendance and an obituary of no more than one paragraph so we abided by her final wishes.
