“Our Loving Mother” Betty Jo Stephens, 86, of Charleston, passed away July 10, 2015 at Marmet Center. She was born on Jan. 1, 1929 in Comfort, WV, a daughter of the late Hansel Faye and Nora Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Nelson and her sister, Mary Helen Henson. She graduated from East Bank High School in 1946. After graduation from LPN School in 1962, she worked at McMillian Hospital. She is survived by her two sons, Edward (Pam) Carson and Stephen Carson; one daughter, Stephanie (Larry) Sydenstricker; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes with Pastor Stephen White officiating. Visitation will be from 1-2pm on Monday prior to the service at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, Cross Lanes.
