

She was born December 8, 1941 in Charleston, the daughter of Elmer and Audra Adkins Epling. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Ray Finney, Sr. and her daughter Kimberly Rayhart.
She loved God and her church and was very happy to spread his word on mission trips to Haiti help to build homes. She helped with clothing and shoe donations going to Haiti. She sponsored 2 children there. She organized cookie ministry at her church for new visitors. She helped with the shower ministry for homeless. She felt very blessed to be part of the ministries and they brought her comfort. She retired from GM in Ohio and then on to retire from Cracker Barrel in FL. She refused to quit work till her body wouldn't allow her to go any longer. She was always on the go, gathering things for the needy and helping where she could. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons Thomas Ray Finney, Jr. (Heather), John Paul Finney, (Karey) of FL, and Brian Scott Finney (Loretta), of NC, Kenneth Lee Epling, (Kathy), of VA daughter Debra Eary (John), of Cross Lanes, brother Ron Epling (Ruth), of FL,10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and5 great great grandchildren.
Celebration of Carolyn's life will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 10 until time of service at the funeral home.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Kyle, her grandson, and his wife Robyn Finney for all of the help and love over the last 18 months after her move back to Florida.
There will be a Celebration of her life at 6:30 P.m. at her church New Day Christian Church, Port Charlotte, FL..
