

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Snyder, Sr., and Mary Snyder, and sister, Cynthia Flowers.
Charlie was a 1982 graduate of Buffalo High School, and received a certificate in Distributive Education from the Putnam County Vocational Technical Center in Eleanor, WV. He worked as the Produce Manager at Foodland (now Piggly Wiggly) in Eleanor, WV, for many years before joining Walmart in Nitro, WV.
He was an avid gun enthusiast and history buff with particular interests in Military and Native American history. Known for being a jokester, Charlie had a great sense of humor, and would befriend people everywhere he went. He liked spending time with his grandchildren, and giving them gifts. In his spare time, he liked watching old western shows, movies, and spending time with friends.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Shanna Snyder (of St Albans, WV); daughter and her boyfriend, Kristen Snyder and Michael Benbow (of Statesville, NC); grandchildren, Andre, Killean, Myricle, Joshua, Kamauri (of Statesville, NC), and Shaila Snyder (of St Albans, WV); special friend and mother of his children, Melissa Thaxton (of Statesville, NC); sister, Marie Stamper (of St Albans, WV), sister, Debbie West (of Hurricane, WV), sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Barry Hartberger (of Hampton, VA), and brother and sister-in-law, Charles Snyder Jr. and Tammie Snyder (of Hurricane, WV); and a host of other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Charlie’s life will be at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home on Friday, March 20, 2026, with Pastor Paul Boggess officiating. Gathering of family and friends will begin at 11:00 A.M., and funeral services will begin at 12:00 P.M. A burial service will immediately follow the funeral services at Forest Memorial Park in Milton, WV.
