Ann was best known recently to be the Administrative Assistant at Crowder Auction. She was the helping, happy voice that always had a kind word for everyone that called in. She prided herself on knowing her customers personally, often offering prayers and words of affirmation to those in need. Her job there was more than a position but an extended family. If she could figure out how to answer those calls in heaven, you can bet that she would right now.
Ann was always ambitious from a very young age when women were just finding their place in the work field. Along with raising her daughter she worked in downtown Charleston at Calculator Sales and Service for several years and later ventured into sales for Annedie’s Wigs.
In 1982 Ann and her late husband, Bert Landers started their own business, St. Albans Mobile Home Movers. They successfully ran this business for 25 years, moving homes across the Tri-state and had one of the top moving companies in the valley. Again, this success stemmed from the friendships, trust and bonds with the people they would move. Many times, throughout those years they would find someone in hard times and after hours of work, they would end up working those moves for free. Ann knew that helping people in need was way more valuable than any amount of money. Gods spirit of giving was always on her heart.
Once her husband passed her business ended but the mobile home industry was dear to her heart, so she continued for many years in sales at Charleston Home Center Inc. Later she journeyed to Crowders Auction, and she continued to work every day, loving her job and the people she encountered. Any weekend you would find her at an auction, flea market or thrift shop with her doggie Misty and husband Tim by her side. She loved being social and if you knew Ann she had to GO, GO, GO.
But Ann was more than just a successful businesswoman, she was a loving mom, grandmother, mother-in-law, wife, sister and dog mom. Her family absolutely adored her and she was the pillar of their small family and the best friend of her daughter. The sense of loss of her bright light is immense. Her heart was beyond generous; she would literally do anything for anyone. She would help the needy, pray for the sick, and offer love to anyone who was struggling. Most importantly she was a child of God and she found joy in telling people the love of Christ. Her faith even through the hardest struggles of her life was unwavering and she went to Jesus the day of her passing with praise and worship all around her. Ann finished well. And she would say to you all “Love You to the Moon and Back”
