Clara "Jimmie" Ramsey Collins

Clara “Jimmie” Collins went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 17, 2025. She lived a long and full life just recently turning 99 years old. She is survived by her grandchildren Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Lee Riggs (United States Marine Corps retired) and wife Rebecca Riggs, and Staff Sergeant Sean Christopher Riggs (United States Air Force retired) and wife Sabrina Riggs, Dane Pillsbury, of Daytona, FL, and Ashley Pillsbury, of Colorado Springs, CO. She also is survived by five great grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob and Alexander Riggs; and Shannon and Fallon Pillsbury. She was born in Mount Nebo, West Virginia to Roosevelt Hawkins Ramsey and Mae Ramsey on October 17, 1926. Her siblings who have also gone on to join the Lord included Donald Ramsey of Mount Nebo, Charlotte Ramsey Pierson of Lewisburg, and Gary Ramsey of Mount Nebo. Jimmie was the wife of 49 years to Howard Collins of North Charleston. She was the proud mother to two daughters who have also preceded her in joining the Lord; Vivian “Jeanne” Riggs (North Charleston) and Renee Collins Pillsbury (Daytona Beach, Florida). She also was a proud Aunt to nieces and nephews of her brothers and sisters. Jimmie was a proud long member of Starcher Baptist Church in North Charleston. She also worked in the banking industry for over 40 years for First Empire Federal and Monsanto Credit Union. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. Celebration of Jimmie’s life will be 12:00 P.M. Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home, Cross Lanes. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.

Gathering of family and friends will be from 5 until 7 Friday at the funeral home.
