Cynthia Cole

Cynthia Louise Cole ( Cindy) 64 of Nitro WV departed life on Wed March 11, 2026 at home after a long illness. She was born in Charleston WV on June 4, 1961 to Fred and Myrtle Clendenin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years Harold, and sister Karen Beckett.

Cindy was a 1979 graduate of Nitro High School where she was a majorette. Cindy was a well known and very talented hair stylist in the Cross Lanes area working from 1979 until her retirement in 2022. Cindy started her career as a hair stylist at Stone and Thomas Department Store in downtown Charleston before opening her own shop in 1988 in Cross Lanes and then in 2003 building and running a shop in her home until she retired. Cindy had a love for animals, camping, and traveling. She raced go karts on a weekly basis in 1999 at Milton Kartway running the Super Heavy Class and she even got a feature win that year.

Left to cherish her memory is her son Matt ( Daneille ) of Liberty , Sisters Linda Lucas , Becky Clendenin , Pam Shamblin and many nieces and nephews along with 2 very special granddogs Chumlee and Zeva.

Celebration of Cindy’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday March 21, 2026 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home.

Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Charleston for their excellent care they had given Cindy. The family would also like to thank her best friend since elementary school Annette Hancock for always being there for Cindy through the years. Instead of flowers the family requests that donations to be made in Cindys name to New Hope Animal Rescue PO Box 461 Scott Depot WV 25560.
