

CROSS LANES, W.Va. – Doris Mae Smith, 96, of Cross Lanes, WV, formerly of South Charleston, WV, and born in Parkersburg, WV passed away September 10, 2025 after a brief illness.
She was a retired Registrar with the Kanawha County Clerk’s Office, and an active poll worker until age 93. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in So. Charleston, and a former member of Bible Baptist Church, Palm Harbor, FL.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Hoyt Smith, sons Rodney D. and Ronald E. Smith, and grandson Jason D. Smith. Her dear friend Hazel Childress. Surviving: daughter, Darla D. Bleigh (H. Allen, Sr.) of Cross Lanes, W.Va.; sons, Dennis R. Smith (Rita) and Gregory A. Smith (Tanya) both of Florida. She had several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 10AM, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, with service following at 11AM at Tyler Mountain Memorial Garden in Cross Lanes, WV. Pastor Timothy Bleigh officiating. Entombment will be at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, W.Va. All who knew her know the love she had for her family, and the light she brought to this world.
