George M. Ranson

George M. (Butch) Ranson went home to be with his Lord on June 28, 2015. He was born in Charleston, WV, May 2nd, 1944, the son of the late Julian C. and Helen E. Dempsey Ranson; he was also preceded in death by his sister, Rosalie Dodrill and brothers, Gene and Charles. George grew up on South Park Rd. in Charleston. He served in the Marine Corp and Retired from the Air National Guard. He also served during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from Union Carbide and Bayer Crop Science with 34 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tyler Mountain and a Member of the Nitro Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Judy; son Ken; grandson, Jesse of Cross Lanes; and brothers, Ronnie of Charleston, Russell of Cary, NC, and Fred Ranson of South Charleston. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and great Nieces and Nephews. Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, July 1st. 2015 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home 5233 Rocky Fork Rd. Cross Lanes, WV 25313, with Pastor Roger Gordan officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
