Gerald Gene Gladwell, 82, peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord on March 8, 2025, in Cross Lanes, West Virginia. Born on September 22, 1942, in Hillsboro, West Virginia, he built a life marked by dedication to his family and a successful career in the textile industry.
Gerald was known for his quick wit and straightforwardness. Throughout his life, he found joy in the outdoors. He had a passion for gardening, hunting, and bird watching—activities that connected him to nature and brought him peace. His love for these pastimes was something he shared with those around him, creating lasting memories for his family and friends.
As a faithful believer in Christ, Gerald joins his beloved wife, Lucy Jane Gladwell (Cutlip), and his brother, George Gladwell in heaven. He is survived by his children: Jane Thomas (Kevin), Jeff Gladwell (Rita), and John Gladwell (Christine). His legacy continues through his grandchildren—Susan Lopinsky (Mark), Courtney Morgan (Justin), Cameron Thomas (Christina), Hunter Gladwell, and Tanner Gladwell (Madeleine)—as well as his five great-grandchildren: Samuel, Ryan, Rogan, Rhett, and Arleigh.
A celebration of Gerald’s life will be at 12:00 P.M. Wednesday March 12, 2025 at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home with Mr. John Thompson officiating.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home.
