Jim Hall was called home to be with the Lord in the early morning of December 31, 2016. He was 82. He had suffered from COPD and other health issues for several years. Jim was born September 16, 1934, in Elizabeth, N.J., the son of James and Jeanette Buchanan Hall Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Hall, son, Gary Davis, and brother, Kenneth Hall. Even though he is gone from this earth, we are thankful that we will see him again one day in heaven. Jim served in the Air Force as a mechanic, worked as a machinist, millwright, truck driver, driving instructor and, back in the day, a CB Radio operator / repairman with the handle "Li’l Abner." Not only was Jim an avid bowler, but he was an awesome bowler, competing and winning in many local tournaments. Jim also bowled several 300 league sanctioned games, as well as many non-sanctioned 300 and many 289 and 299 games. He loved Jesus and was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Scott Depot. Surviving are Jim’s daughter and son-in-law, Denise and John Young; son, Terry Davis; grandchildren, Ashley (Adam) Hill, Jamie Young, Colin Davis; and Denise’s mother, Grace Fogarty, and Grace’s husband, Terry Fogarty. Also missing him are his best buddies, Babe and Jake. Celebration of Jim’s life will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Pastor Kenny Stidham officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by St. Albans VFW 6418 and American Legion Post 73. Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home. Jim loved animals and in his memory we request donations, in lieu of flowers, be sent to a local animal rescue, A Passion for Purrs, c/o Kathy Jordon, 224 Brookhaven Drive, Nitro, WV 25243.
