He was born April 1, 1972 in South Charleston, the son of James and Shirley Rife McElwee, Sr.
James was preceded in death by his sister, Janabeth Frantz.
James worked for IUOE Local 132. He loved hunting, fishing, and motorcycles. He was a member of Washington Lodge No 58 A.F. & A.M. James was also an organ donor.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Christina McElwee, and children, Claire and Victor McElwee, and nephew, Jacob and niece, Maggie.
Celebration of James’s life will be 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with Celebrant HR Whitttington presiding.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 4 until time of service at the funeral home.
