James W. Stewart, 57 of Nitro passed away November 28, 2015. He was born March 19th, 1958 the son of the late James H. Stewart and Pauline F. Hackworth of Cross Lanes. Surviving are his two daughters, Katie Stewart of Charleston, Diane Sager of Ohio; two grandsons and his three sisters, Kimberly Jill Donley of Montrose, CO; Katherine Joy Whitten of Shelby, NC and Katrina J. Taylor (David) of Ona, WV. In 1976 he joined the Army and was ranked PFC where he received his Diploma from Fayetteville Technical Institute, NC. He also attended Nitro High School and was baptized in Alum Creek, WV on November 1969 and was a member of Valley View Baptist Church of Cross Lanes. Memorial Service will be Friday, December 4th, 2015 at 2:00pm at Cross Lanes United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Gary Nelson officiating. Friends may call from 1:00pm until service time. Inurnment will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens at a later date. Tyler Mountain Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
