

He was born August 14, 1935 in Boone County, the son of Robert and Audrey Griffith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by wife, Elizabeth Ann Griffith, grandson, Joshua Perry, and sister, Janet “Jan” Smith.
Jimmie was a retired truck driver from Union Carbide with over 40 years of service, and was formerly employed with Reagent Chemical and Ryder Services. He was a proud US Navy veteran and a member of Poca Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed woodworking, helping others, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his eldest daughter, Janet Griffith Kelly (Chuck), of Richmond, VA, daughter, Cindy Griffith Means, of Milton, son, Kevin Griffith (Marsha), of Charleston, step daughter, Debbie Perry Shrewsbury (Mike), of Nitro, and step son, Mark Perry (Lori), of Poca, 7 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brothers, Harold Griffith, of Hurricane, Barney Griffith, of NC, sister Patty Miller and faithful k-9 companion “Baby” Mindy.
Celebration of Jimmie’s life will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Poca Baptist Church with Pastor Tom Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 1:30 until time of service at the church.
