John O. Brightwell, 82, of St. Albans, went home to be with his Lord on October 31, 2015. He was born July 25, 1933 and was a son of the late Henry and Cynthia Brightwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Isabella Brightwell; son, Eddie Childers; daughter, Sandra O’Hara; brothers, Theodore, Russell and Henry Jr. Brightwell; and sisters, Lureay Prichard, Judith Brightwell and Emily Jane Baisden. John is survived by children, Kathy Brightwell (Jim) Caldwell of St. Albans and Devin (Julie) Brightwell of Dunbar, Betty (Tom) Legg, John R. (Young OK) Lee and Bobby Burgess; brothers, Donald and Raymond (June) Brightwell; sisters, Athalea Lambert and Bernice Owens; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. A celebration of John’s life will be 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with Bishop Jim Dillo officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
