Joshua David Price

Joshua David Price, 34, of Grand Rapids, Mich., was set free from this world's struggles on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. Josh was the oldest of two children born to Karen Shuck of St. Albans and Dave Price of Kingsport, Tenn. He graduated from St. Albans High School in 2000. After moving to Grand Rapids, Josh worked as a laborer for a small construction company. He loved his job and working with his construction company family. Josh was most proud of his two sons, Jacob Price of Grand Rapids and Cain Price of Nitro. Known as Poppee, Josh was a strong, positive influence in Jacob's life and he hoped to one day be that same positive father figure to Cain. Josh was caring, thoughtful, intelligent, quick-witted and creative. Accepted into the gifted art program in third grade, he continued to use his gift for drawing as a therapeutic refuge and a form of self-expression throughout his life. He was a lifelong fan of the WWE. He stayed abreast of current issues, had an opinion on everything and used his intelligence and sharp wit to banter with friends, family and new acquaintances. He is survived by his mother, Karen Shuck; sister, Jessi Price (Josh Lasure); father, Dave Price; maternal grandmother, Mary Campbell; half sister, Savannah Rose Holbrook of Camden on Gauley, WV; and aunts, an uncle and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Chilton Campbell; his paternal grandparents, Donald and Margaret Price; and his half sister, Lori Turley Nubert. His time on this earth too short, Josh will be missed every day by his family and friends. Josh adored his nephew, Gunner. He cherished his friends and the encouragement they gave him. His mother's love and friendship was a source of strength and guidance. We trust that he is at peace in God's loving embrace. We love you and life will never be the same without you. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 13, at First Baptist Church in St. Albans. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. until time of service.
