KENNETH W. BLACK, 74, of St. Albans, formerly of Winifrede, W.Va., and West Palm Beach, Fla., entered into rest December 20, 2019. Kenneth, living a tough Marine life, fought a hard battle for a year and eight months before losing the battle.
Kenneth was born in Nitro, on December 13, 1945, and was the son of James E. and Ruth Jean Parson Black. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Shirley Hurst Leach Black; step son, Calvin Leach; step daughter, Shelia Leach; sisters, Mary Milam, Lucy Brammer, Sue Smith Ward, and Sandra Black; brothers, Bernard (Steve) Black Sr., Ronald L. Black, Bernard (Stevie), James, Charles and Joe.
He is survived by his son, Kenneth W. Black II; three grandchildren, Kenneth Black III, Caleb, and Shirley; two brothers, Jerry of Hurricane, Richard of Scott Depot; sisters, Debbie Osborne, Patsy of Brandenton, Fla., Connie Mahoney of Ocala, Fla., and Angela Searls, of Culloden.
In honoring his wishes, he will be laid to rest in Lake Worth Cemetery, Fla.
