Lana Sue Hammond

Lana Wray Hammond was born September 4, 1953, and passed away surrounded by family on September 29, 2025, after her battle with breast cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Jewell Wray, her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ron Rowley, and her nephew, Kent Rowley.

Lana is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Joe Hammond, her two children, Kari and Travis (Erica), and her two grandchildren, Brantley and Meadow. She also leaves behind her brother, Roger (Susan) Wray, along with the Hammond family, other nieces and nephews, her Uncle Barry (Dorinda) Wray, and lastly the "Chandler Gang Family".

Lana worked as an aide at Chandler Academy, and her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid cook and spent lots of time preparing meals for her close and extended families. Cooking was her way of showing affection. Family and friends will miss her dearly.

Celebration of Lana's life will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home.

Gathering of family and friends will be from 1 until time of service at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses at CAMC Memorial and everyone from Hospice, especially the caregivers who provided such exceptional care.
