Brady, formerly of Dunbar, WV, was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine
Townson, father, Brady A. Layne, and four half brothers. He is survived by his wife of 58 years;
Gayle (Ranson), son Matthew Layne, RPh, (wife,Julie), daughter Dr. Mindy Jennings,
(husband,Stuart), sister Beverly Zabel, three granddaughters: Lauren, Claire, and Elise; and 3
half sisters.
He retired from the C & O Railroad and then furthered his education at Lear Seigler
Institute in Maryland. He was then employed by Union Carbide as a computer supervisor.
Brady’s first love of his life was the Lord Jesus Christ, which gave him the motivation to
study God’s word. This love was his inspiration to become a published author of a book about
the preciousness of Jesus, It’s In The Book.
Celebration of Brady’s life will be 12 o’clock Monday October 21st at Tyler Mountain
Funeral Home, Cross Lanes, WV. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service at 11am. Dr.
Jerry Fisher will be officiating and music will be provided by Donna & Veril Jividen.
