He was born May 29, 1944 in Charleston, the son of Lawrence and Dora Fortune Allen. In addition to parents he was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Todd Allen, great granddaughter Addison, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
Lawrence worked in construction his whole life. He was an avid outdoorsman. Lawrence was a member of South Charleston First Church of the Nazarene. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Marsha, children, Lawrence Z. Allen, III (Valerie), Gracie Allen, Nicholas Allen, grandchildren Ashley Hazlett (Shannon), great grandson Grayson, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Celebration of Lawrence’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor Kent Estep officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
