

Linda Pearl Thelen passed away peacefully on December 15, 2017, at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV. She was 75 years old. Linda was born and raised in West Virginia. As an adult she moved to Delaware, Nebraska and Wisconsin, but always looked forward to returning to her home state. She came back to West Virginia for the last time more than 20 years ago after the death of her husband.
Linda loved traveling, bowling, her job and the occasional trip to a casino. Most of all she loved her family and many friends. Linda worked at Payne Controls Co. in Putnam County and only retired this year. She bowled for many years in a local bowling league and was frequently the anchor of the team.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband and one true love Ivan Thelen, her beloved daughter Dawn Selbe, and her mother Margaret Melton. As the Bible promised in 2 Samuel, Linda has reunited with her love ones in Heaven. Linda is survived by her son Thomas A. Jarrett and her daughter Deborah L. Dober. Linda loved and cherished her large family including her grand children -- Rhianna and Braelyn Selbe, Matthew Wermuth , Courtney Pederson, Sara Allred, Thomas and Clarissa Jarrett ;great grandchildren Aiyana and Elaina; her four siblings -- sister & brother-in-law Carolyn & Richard Frederick, brother Michael Chaney, sister & brother-in-law Brenda & Paul Richie, and brother and sister-in-law James & Joanne Melton. She also regularly thought about her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at the First Baptist Church of St Albans on December 18, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. immediately followed by a celebration of Linda's life at 2:00 p.m., Reverend Joel M. Harpold officiating. A short reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311. The wonderful facility with its caring and loving staff is a true asset to people during their passage from this world to the next.
