Lovell "Buck" Earl Johnstone

Lovell “Buck” Earl Johnstone, 81, of South Charleston, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 after a long illness. He was born November 20, 1935 in Charleston, the son of Lovell “Buck” Elisha and Margaret “Peggy” Lewis Johnstone. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Jean Johnstone. Buck was retired from C & P Telephone/Verizon Company after 44 years of dedicated service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Jo Ann Johnstone, son, Lovell Earl Johnstone, Jr., of IL, daughter, Roberta Lynn Johnstone, of Glennwood, step sons, Donald Wade Melton (Cathy) and Jeffrey Wayne Melton, both of MO, step daughter, Sarah Ann Pullara, of Charleston, grandsons, Danny Melton, Donald Melton, both of MO, Nicholas Pullara, of Ocala, FL, siblings, Sally Ann Keeling (Charles), of Elkview, Mary Margaret Mizell, of Carlisle, PA, James Terrell Johnstone (Jane), of Charleston, and several nieces and nephews. Celebration of Buck’s life will be 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home with HR Whittington as celebrant. Gathering of family and friends will be from 5 until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be to Alzheimers Association, 1111 Lee Street East, Charleston, WV 25301.
