

Margaret Emily (Carr) Boggs, of High Point, NC, formerly of St. Albans, WV, went home to be with her Lord on January 16, 2019, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born on March 28, 1940, in Sugar Creek, WV, and graduated from St. Albans High School, class of 1957. Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also employed as a florist for Kroger and retired in February 2002 with over 30 years of service.
Margaret was preceded in death by her father, Charles Pell Carr, Sr. and mother, Lottie Faye Carr; brothers Samuel Carr and Charles Pell Carr, Jr.; and sisters Esther Midkiff Roe, Anna Morris, Rebecca Boone, and Audra Carpenter. Margaret is survived by two daughters, Carlene (George) Merriam, High Point, NC, and Tammy Boggs, Jamestown, NC, as well as three grandchildren Jessica (Robert) Akin, Jackson, MS; Peyton (Emily) Merriam, Colfax, NC; and Zac Boggs, Jamestown, NC; as well as four great grandchildren, Wilkes Akin and Anderson Akin, Jackson, MS; Owen and Cooper Merriam, Colfax, NC; and six brothers and sisters, Joseph (Dorla) Carr, St. Albans, WV; Glenn Carr, Teays Valley, WV; Mary Drumheller, Griffin, GA; Robert (Helen) Carr, Nitro, WV; Betty (Russell) Tinsley, Thomasville, NC; Thomas (Abbie) Carr, Vermillion, OH.
Margaret will always be remembered for her sweet spirit, big smile, love for her family, and never missing an opportunity to dance. A special thank-you to Margaret’s favorite doctor and family friend, Dr. Sloan Manning, and to the wonderful staff of McEwan House at Pennybyrn at Maryfield Memory Care.
Celebration of Margaret’s life will be at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans, WV, on Monday, January 21, 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Frank Chapman officiating.
Gathering of family and friends will be from 11 until time of service.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association or Pennybyrn at Maryfield.
