Looking back I have many memories in the short time I was a part of caring for her. Sitting around the breakfast table with Mary Ann and John talking about years gone by. I learned so much from them about their lives, families, history, Charleston; and how things were. Mary Ann taught me how to make her macaroni salad and shared some things she did to her brownies. She had such beautiful white hair and blue eyes. I will truly miss her and I can't tell you how much she and John influenced my life.

John I don't know what to say because we knew what to expect. I want to wish you well and I hope your tomatoes do well. Did you plant Mary Ann's lettuce? It's not too late if you want.

Thank you all for being so kind to me and enabling me to help take care of them.
Love and Prayers Cheryl Ann Hayes Snodgrass.

Dear Uncle John,
I have this picture in my office and I thought you might like to have a copy. It is a great picture of you and Aunt Mary Ann from one of the reunions at Aunt Alma's. You both are smiling big and look very happy. I hope you enjoy it.
Love and prayers.
Your niece,
Linda Coll

Dear Uncle John,
I'm so sorry to hear Aunt Mary Ann has passed. I have thought about you both so often and am sad that I did not send you a card or call when I thought about you. I have always loved you both dearly. Please know that you are utmost in my thoughts and prayers.
I wish I could be there for you now but unfortunately, I have a roof leak and they are coming on Friday to start work. I am very upset that I can not make the services. Please know I will be there in spirit.
I have a lot of happy memories of you both at the reunions. Both of you were always happy and smiling. You were and are my image of the perfect couple.
I'll share a couple of sweet memories of Aunt Mary Ann with you: I remember Aunt Mary Ann making us rings out of the fire fly lights when we were kids. We were so delighted when she did that for us. We felt so special with our light up rings. ☺️
She also taught us how to make rope out of the little white weed flowers. This also was special to us. I don't think any other kids knew how to do this as we taught all of the other kids in the neighborhood.
Please take good care of yourself. I am thinking of you and praying for you.
Love and Sincerity,
Your Niece, Linda Coll
P.S. Friday, May 17th is Mom's (Betty's) 94th birthday. I know she would be sad to hear about Aunt Mary Ann but her dementia is to the point that I'm sure Tina will not tell her. It is best she not be upset and remember Aunt Mary Ann happily.
God Bless You!
