Mary Elizabeth Skeen was a beautiful flower who passed while tending her garden on June 17, 2026, at the age of 71. She had a gentle spirit and a beautiful smile and all the souls who were fortunate enough to cross her path were recipients of those. This includes not only her family listed below but also all of the rescue creatures she tended to. Mary Beth saved not only the dogs and cats that were smart enough to show up at her door--she also kept a jar in the house for catching bugs so that she could release them to the wild. She referred to her plants as "her babies" and her loved ones take solace in thinking that her spirit is now surrounded by all the four-legged, winged, and green creatures that she loved so much and had to say goodbye to. She will be remembered in all things wild and peaceful.
Mary Beth was the daughter of the late Roy Glenn and Eleanor Howard Skeen and was also predeceased by brother Roy Glenn Skeen Jr. and sisters Susan Skeen and Rebecca Skeen-Webb. She is survived by the love of her life and best friend of many decades, Aaron Frail. She is also survived by sister Sarah Skeen and brother-in-law David, nieces Ashley Skeen and Erin Webb, and nephews Mark Oliver and Jeff McDaniel.
As per her wishes, she was cremated. There will not be a funeral service. But in her honor, if you are reading this, take some time today to soak in the beauty of nature, pet a furry friend, or call that loved one that's been on your mind.
