Today reminds me that it was the day that our dear sister, friend, mother, wife, aunt, cousin left this world.  I miss my sister in law very much.  She was always ready to receive us into her home as part of her family.  We always enjoyed our time with her, Gordon and Bryan laughing, playing scrabble or other board games.  We loved eating with them too.  Melody could fix some really mouth watering biscuits and gravy for us among other delicious home cooked food.  She had a beautiful smile, a contagious laugh, and a gorgeous soprano voice that drew you into God's presence.  We love Melody and we thank God that we have had the opportunity to know her.  We miss you, your smile, your laugh, your singing, and your cooking!!  We love you dear!!  According to the way, I read the Scriptures, I will see you in heaven one day!!  But until that day our hearts will go on singing, until that day when God calls us home!!  And according to the way I read the Scriptures you, Melody loved Jesus with all your heart, so I know that you are safe and secure in your heavenly home.  No more pain and no more suffering!  We thank God, Melody, that you are home with Father God, Jesus, the angels, the saints who have gone before, and free from this old world of sorrow at last!!  HALLELUJAH!!  Thank You Father God that Melody is with you embraced in your arms of love!

I remember my sister as a person who had a lot of for everyone, especially her love for Jesus Christ.  Her love really was shown as she praised the Lord in her beautiful alto voice,  I miss her.  She is Heavens gain!     Wes. Sr.

Melody has been an amazing sister through all the ups and downs that she and Gordon have experienced in their marriage.  Melody has always opened her arms of love to Wes and me every time we came to West Virginia.  She always brought joy to our hearts and our stomachs with her homemade biscuits!  Her generous hospitality is what I remember most about Melody and her generous love.  Melody knew how to love people and family without judging.  Her heart knew no malice toward anyone because when she loved you, she was totally honest about how she felt.  I loved Melody's clear ringing melodious soprano voice.  She never flaunted her talents but sang with humility and love for her Lord Jesus Christ.  All my memories of Melody are tucked away in my heart.  I expect to see her again on that GLAD REUNION DAY!!  I LOVE YOU MELODY!  Your name is who you are, a MELODY!!  Thanks for being  a Melody to my family and me!

I’m so sorry for your loss Gordon. She was a lovely woman and I’m very happy y’all had so many beautiful years together. We have our memories now and we must cherish them for comfort. Love & prayers to all the broken hearts left behind.

Words cannot express our sadness upon learning of Melody's death. A true light of life was snuffed out too soon. Melody was gracious and fun; she had a wicked sense of humor. She tolerated the "three little girls" upon her introduction to the family, and throughout our lives, with her loving support. Plus, she had an AMAZING voice whether singing with Linda and Ann years ago at the Clendenin Advent Christian Church, or at our family reunions when we belted out the hymns. We will miss her so.

We met Melody through their best friends Guy and Linda Cox.As someone said Melody always listened to you like you were the only one in the room.My fondest memory was when she and Gordie came over to sing for my mom who lived with us for many years and was housebound at the time. I was barely in my teens when Melody and Gordie married, but I experienced her kindness from the beginning. From the time they invited me and my high school best friend, Terry Smith, to their home in Elkview to watch Super Bowl IV (and providing snacks and a meal), to several outings throughout the years (usually including Marshall) and we would stop for picnics at various WV roadside parks, I could go on, but suffice to say that Melody was always very gracious and hospitable in making us feel welcome and comfortable. This continued through the years at various family gatherings (her mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving dinners were the best!). As years passed, I was always impressed by her conversations—she was always interested in what I was doing and where I’d been, always giving me her full attention. Melody was a special person—I love her and will miss her. 

Melody was a blessing to all who was fortunate to know her. I remember once while sitting during church when she arose from her seat and began to sing and praise our Lord Jesus Christ.  It was awesome and it affected the entire church.  What a voice!! My late father, Raymond and mother Lois Cline considered her as one of their own kids. She was up-beat and a joy to be around. With loving thoughts of my sister-in-law Melody, and love to my brother Gordon and nephew Bryan in their loss. Melody was part of our Parker family for more than 50 years, and so well loved by those she leaves behind. I've said on more than one occasion that she was definitely appropriately named, because her voice was such a melody, and I always liked to hear her singing at our family gatherings. Prayers and love to those who are grieving.

Melody was special to me for many reasons. My husband’s sister-in-law, I  rode to work with her for quite a while there, but most importantly, when I had just met her, we sat at the in-laws’ dining room table after Christmas festivities and started planning my wedding.  Will miss that sweet lady.

I didn't have time to say good bye! I know that you will always be in my heart with the great memories of love and joy that you gave to me and my family.  I loved you then and I love you now!  Such a great hostess, sister, and friend you have been!  So now I say good bye and soon I will say hello! So many great family memories with Melody, Gordon & Bryan at my Aunt Evelyn’s house. They took me to my first Charleston Charlies game, looking at family picture slides at get togethers, all of us celebrating our Grandpa Tucker’s 85th birthday…precious memories. So thankful that she is reunited with our family, whole & healthy rejoicing with our Savior! Looking forward to our grand reunion…I’ll miss you til then, sweet cousin! 

I met Melody when our family started attending Clendenin Advent Christian Church when I was sixteen years old. She and I became fast friends.  

Melody was more than just a sister-in-law - she was a true sister whom I often turned to for advice and comfort.

I will miss her so much.
