December 5, 1973 – December 27, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Michele Hanson, 51, on December 27, 2024. Michele was a devoted wife, loving mother, fierce protector, and loyal friend whose fiery spirit and love for life left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Michele shared a once-in-a-lifetime connection with her husband, Wayne, who was truly her soulmate. Their bond was built on love, laughter, and unwavering support, and they stood by each other through life’s greatest joys and challenges. Wayne was her rock, her partner, and the love of her life.
Her love language was cooking and serving her family, and she poured her heart into every meal she prepared. Michele found immense joy in gathering her loved ones around the table, creating delicious dishes that nourished not only their bodies but also their souls. For her, the kitchen was a place where love and care came to life, and her family will forever cherish the memories of her meals and the warmth of her presence.
In September of 2020, Michele was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. True to her nature, she faced this battle with extraordinary courage, resilience, and determination. Michele fought hard every step of the way, defying odds and inspiring everyone around her with her strength. Her warrior spirit never wavered, and she leaves behind a legacy of fierce love, unrelenting bravery, and an enduring impact on all who knew her.
Michele and Wayne shared a deep connection through their faith. This belief system, Norse Pagan, is grounded in strength, honor, and connection to nature. It perfectly reflects Michele’s warrior spirit and her unwavering devotion to family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of fierce love and protection, values that will continue to guide and inspire her loved ones.
Michele was not just a wife, mother, and friend—she was a force of nature. Her laughter could brighten the darkest days, her determination inspired everyone around her, and her love knew no bounds. She cherished her friendships deeply and created lasting bonds with all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne; her children, Tyler, Brenden, Brandon (Nichole), Corbin, Hayden, and Trinity; and her grandchildren, Rosie, Ellie, Vladimir, PJ, Björn, Kaitlyn, and Lilyan. Michele was also cherished by her friends and extended family, who will forever hold her in their hearts.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 4th, at 5:00 PM at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home in Cross Lanes, WV, followed by a ceremony at 6:00 PM and a reception afterward.
In honor of Michele’s vibrant spirit and her family’s Norse Pagan beliefs, the ceremony will reflect the values she held dear—strength, love, and connection to all things. The family encourages attendees to come as they are, celebrating Michele’s life in the way she lived it—boldly and with love.
Michele’s memory will forever be a guiding light to those who loved her. While she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will live on in every concert attended, every lovingly prepared meal, every act of courage, and every heart she touched. Hail to a warrior and a loving soul who will never be forgotten.
