Mildred "Audrey" Harkins

Audrey was born in Emporia, VA to the late George Edward Mason and Sallie “Betty” Gray Mason. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Charles “Bernie” Harkins; daughter, Patricia Baker; and sisters, Anna Lee Palumbo and Erline Wozny.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed reading, bowling, bingo and traveling the United States. Audrey was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in St. Albans.

She is survived by her sons, Charlie (Diana) of Hurricane and Jimmy (Rachel) of Troy, NC; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert “Oliver” Mason of Richmond, VA and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her canine companion “Snuggles”.

There will be a celebration of Audrey’s life at noon, Thursday, January 25, 2018 at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 2601 Forrestal Avenue, St. Albans with Pastor Barry Moll officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

The family would like to thank Pam and the staff at Angel Avenue for their excellent and compassionate care these past two years.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the church.
