

Mitchell Tyler Garrett, 19, of St. Albans, was taken from us by a car accident on July 4, 2016. He was born on December 11, 1996 and was a loving son to his mom, Michele “Shelly” McCormick, stepdad, Charles “Chuck” McCormick and father, Craig Garrett. Mitchell was preceded in death by his MaMaw Wilda Escue, MaMaw Rose Hudson, PaPaw Garrett Hudson, Uncle Gary Hudson, Uncle Keith Ennis, Granny Elsa Garrett, Aunt Teresa Garrett and his family pet, Pudgee Wudgee. He played basketball during elementary school. He was a band member at Hayes Jr. High and went to the Junior Trooper Academy in July of 2013. He also took auto body at the Putnam County Technical Career Center and was currently working for Barna and Willis Construction. Mitchell recently took an adventurous trip with his childhood friend, Ben Harrison, to California by car, site seeing along the way in six days! He also enjoyed canoeing, fishing, camping, four wheeling and mudding, hunting, music and just about anything outdoors. He enjoyed life and loved the people who shared it with him. He also leaves behind his big brother, Ryan “Ralphie” Garrett; stepbrothers, Alex, Justin and Brandon McCormick; MaMaw Rita Ennis, PaPaw Delmar Ennis, Uncle Jason Ennis, Aunt Laura Ennis, cousin Julee Ennis, cousin Bradlee Ennis, cousin Hannah Ennis, his buddy and cousin Brandon “Pudge” Baisden, his girlfriend, Brook Booth, PaPaw Bob Garrett, Uncle Wesley Garrett, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Sherri and Uncle Greg Kirby. Mitchy (what most called him) will be remembered for his fun loving smiling face, eagerness to help others, adventurous, spontaneous, dependable, independent and always on the go personality. He also loved taking long drives. He will be truly missed, especially by his mother and many more not mentioned family and friends. A celebration of Mitchell’s life will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B Street, St. Albans with Pastor Shelby McNealy officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
