

He attended Carter G. Woodson and Garnet High School. After graduating from school in Virginia, he joined the Army. Norman worked at True-Temper, Rhone-Poulenc and Kanawha County Schools for 27 years. Everyone in the community knew Norman because he was a “jack-of-all trades” and would help everyone.
Norman was preceded in death by Lorraine Jones, Hawthorne Jones, Vernon Jones, Daisy Lee, Polar Richardson and Elaine Ricks.
He is survived by his wife Gloria Watson Jones; son, Norman (PJ) Jones (wife, Amanda) of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Genean and Viola Jones of Jeffersonville, Indiana; granddaughter, Tanisha Jones of Dallas, Texas; and daughter and granddaughter, Lorraine Dent and Macarah Dent of Virginia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Norman will always be remembered for his love of people and going fishing with his friends.
A celebration of Norman’s life will be 12:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2017 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, St. Albans with Rev. Robert K. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar with military graveside rites by St. Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.
