Oscar Jay McClung Jr.

Oscar Jay McClung, Jr., 73, of Charleston, WV peacefully passed away on January 25th, 2019 after a long illness, with family by his side. He was the son of Oscar J. and Beulah Thomas McClung, of DuPont City, brother of James McClung, all of whom passed away many years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mary, sons, Christopher Thomas McClung (Cheryl) and Gregory Scott McClung; siblings, Sidney McClung (Bonnie) of Largo Vista, TX; Dixie Blake of Hixon,TN; Margaret Alexander (William) of Hurricane, WV and Charles McClung (Wanda) of Loretto, TN; granddaughters, Emma and Rose McClung and many nieces of nephews. He retired from American Electric Power after more than 30 years of service and remained close friends with many of his co-workers over the years. He loved his family and his sons were the light of his life. He was very proud of them and their achievements. He loved all animals, especially his horses, Chihuahuas and Pete his Lab. At his request he will be cremated with no services. Tyler Mountain Funeral Home is assisting the family. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. He will be greatly missed.
