Patty Sue Carr

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of our sweet mother. Patty S. Carr, 76 of Cross Lanes/Tyler Mountain passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Hubbard House after a long illness. Patty was a hairdresser, owning her own business – D’Avlins’ on Tyler Mountain for 32 years. She was known to the community as more than a hair stylist, she was a trusted friend to many. She made clients not only feel more beautiful but lifted their spirits with her tender smile and listening ear. Patty attended Bethel Baptist Church in Hurricane, WV with her daughter and family where she loved to sing the older gospel hymns (Blessed Assurance, Victory in Jesus, and The Old Rugged Cross were her favorites) and enjoyed the children's activities. She loved to travel, go camping, and enjoy her family. She was preceded in death by her father Thomas Stafford King and her husband Darrell. Patty is survived by her children: Kelly Jenkins (Alan), Stan Skeens (Priscilla), and Chris Skeens (Amanda); her grandchildren Josh Jenkins (Nichole), Kaitlyn Horton (Robert), Zac Skeens (Megan), Chelsea Skeens, Gracie Skeens, Megan Skeens; and great-grandchildren Charlotte Horton, Emerson Horton, and Avery Jenkins.

She will be deeply missed by the many who loved her.
