Pauline Markham, 86, of St. Albans, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Valley Center. She was born May 27, 1929 in Nitro, the daughter of Arnold and Goldie Carte. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Markham, Sr., and her son, Joseph Markham, Jr.; brothers, Ernest and Thomas Carte; and sisters, Juanita Stein and infant, Connie Sue Carte. Pauline was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son, Kenneth of Tornado; two grandsons, Joseph Thomas Markham and Zachary Markham; and brothers, Chester Carte (Helen), Jim Carte and Robert Carte. Celebration of Pauline’s life will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Gathering of family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
