

Richard Leon Fox, “Zeke”, 93, beloved husband of Isabelle Moore Fox, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2017. Zeke was born on March 3, 1924 in Valley Chapel, Lewis County, West Virginia to Babb Lee Fox and Madge Stutler Fox. As one of the “Greatest Generation”, Zeke enlisted at age 19 and served in WWII. His service was in Africa. He was a corporal in the U.S. Army, and he was a member of the National Guard after the war. He was a dedicated and hardworking employee for Union Carbide at the Institute plant for 32 years. Along with his wife, who was their church organist for over 60 years, Zeke was an active member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church and had many dear friends there. He will be sadly missed by his son, Dr. Donald Lee Fox, and his wife, Nancy, of Charleston, S.C. and by his two cherished grandchildren, Dr. Jennifer L. Fox of Charleston, S.C. and Dr. Adam H. Fox of Richmond, Virginia. He was predeceased by his most special wife of 70 years, Isabelle, and his two sisters, Dr. Lois Fox Fryer, “Sis”, and Elizabeth Fox Carroll, “Till”. Along with Don and his family, he is survived by Till’s seven children: Barbara, Cathy, Clark, John, Mary, Priscilla and Susan. Isabelle was the oldest of eleven children; with their marriage, Zeke was embraced by the Moore family as a brother-in-law and a friend and is survived by his wife’s ten siblings and their families. Visitation with the family will be from noon until 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13 followed by a celebration of Zeke’s life at 2:00PM at Casdorph and Curry Funeral Home, St. Albans, with Pastor Richie McNiel officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park with Military graveside rites conducted by St. Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 2601 Forrestal Avenue or Lakeview United Methodist Church, 2624 E. Parkview Drive. Both are in St. Albans, WV 25177.
