Robert Michael Chewning

Robert Michael Chewning, 71, of Belle, WV passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026.

Mike was born on May 24, 1955, to Robert Roy Chewning and Gladys Foster Chewning. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Rebecca Jayne Harris.

Mike will be remembered and missed by his wife of 51 years, Priscilla, his daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Steven Arden, and his three grandchildren, Benjamin, Jadcia, and Elise, as well as countless family and friends.

Mike retired in 2017 as a Class IV Wastewater Operator. He also owned and operated Mike’s Environmental Services. Michael loved to fly and obtained his pilot license. Michael was a member of the Open Door Apostolic Church and the Hometown Apostolic Church and devoted his life to serve God and his church.

We want to thank the nurses and staff of the Genesis Marmet Center for taking such wonderful care of him during his later years. Thank you for your kindness and care.

We want to invite everyone to a Memorial Gathering at the Open Door Apostolic Church located at 2630 Kanawha Blvd East, Charleston, WV on Tuesday, July 28th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
