Ronald Wayne Watkins

Ronald Wayne Watkins, 82, of Nitro, passed away peacefully at his home on September 23, 2025. Above all else, Ronald loved spending time with his wife and family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and cherished brother.

Born on June 15, 1943 in Charleston to Lucille (Wilson) and Ralph Watkins. Ronald was a 1961 Charleston High School Graduate who attended West Virginia University. He proudly served his country in the US Navy, joining in 1963. He enjoyed NASCAR, boating, photography, and listening to his record collections. Ronald’s kind heart and sense of humor brought joy to those around him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Watkins, his children, Wes Watkins and his wife Jennifer and Jennifer Price and her husband Ben, his grandchildren, Rylan and Sydney Watkins, and Evander, Elijah, Theo, and Maleigha Price, and his sister, MaryLee Dunn.

Celebration of Ronald’s life will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 26, 2025 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hager officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, with Military Graveside Rites conducted by St Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.

Gathering of family and friends will be from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
