Born on October 12, 1953, in Charleston, West Virginia, Sherri was the daughter of the late Ralph and Pauline Buzzard of Drawdy, West Virginia.
A 1971 graduate of Sherman High School, Sherri later attended Charleston Barber College and became the proud owner of the Matador Barber Shop, where she served her community for 30 years.
Sherri’s faith was a guiding light in her life. She was baptized into Christ on May 19, 1968, and was a devoted member of the Washington Street Church of Christ in St. Albans. She loved acapella hymns, and when you hear Oh Come Angel Band, I’ll Fly Away, or As the Life of a Flower, think of her.
She had a heart for caring for others and found joy in reading, playing bingo with her dear friend Joyce and friends at the Hansford Center, and playing cards with family. In her younger years, she cherished time spent camping, bike riding, and roller skating.
Sherri is survived by her three children from her former marriage to Larry Wooten:
Andrew Wooten (Miranda) of Scott Depot, West Virginia
Tommy Wooten (Beth) of Alabaster, Alabama
April Ehrlich (Rich) of Crown Point, Indiana
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Ashley Wooten, and was a loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 10 years, Nial "Sonny" Davis, and his daughter, Sheila Gregory. She is survived by his children:
Nial Davis of Port Charlotte, Florida
Dana Davis (Marcia) of Bentonville, Arkansas
Darrell Davis (Cynthia) of Ravenswood, West Virginia
Mona Willamowski (John) of Lima, Ohio
Nila Smith (Bill Phend) of Fort Wayne, Indiana
Through this union, she gained 17 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great-grandchildren.
Additionally, from her previous marriage to Frank Holt (deceased), Sherri is survived by her stepdaughters:
Kathy Snyder (Virgil White) of St. Albans, West Virginia
Jodi Pete (Rebel) of Teays Valley, West Virginia
She also gained and is survived by her four step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Sherri is also survived by her sister and best friend Donna Dearien (Frank) of Verbena, Alabama, her brother, David Buzzard (Tracy) of Drawdy, West Virginia, and a host of extended family members, friends, and her beloved poodle, Daisy.
