Thomas Edward McCown Jr.

He was born November 28, 1949 in Charleston, the son of Thomas and Audrey Collier McCown, Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step mother Imogene McCown and sister Susan Godwin.

Thomas was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson 1967 and was a US Marine Veteran. He was an Iron worker member of Local 301. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend that will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Angie, daughter Lori McCown (Paul Kushner), son Shawn McCown (Kelly), grandchildren Savannah Smith (Cody), Madison Thornton (Jack Trader), Hannah McCown (Evan Webb), Alex Kushner, Brieanna McCown, Mason Thornton, Stewart McCown, siblings Frank McCown (Wendy), Brenda Wotherspoon (Tom), Bonnie Menninger (Joe), Barbara Kidd, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends.

Celebration of Eddie’s life will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 27, 2026 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Ledsome officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, with Military Graveside rites to be conducted by St Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.

Gathering of family and friends will be from 1 until time of service at the funeral home.
