Wanda F Lane

She was born June 10, 1943 in Kellys Creek near Cedar Grove, the daughter of Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Slater Kelley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Lane, Sr., her first born child Joey Michael, son Paul Lane, Jr., her sisters Ellie Drake, Jenny Riddle, Helen Durham and brothers Gordon, Golden, Clayton, Clyde and Dannie.

She attended school in Ward and graduated from Sissonville High School.

She married the love of her life Paul Lane on her 18th birthday and lived on their farm on Harmon’s Creek where she raised her two boys Paul “PJ” Jr. and Tommy Lane. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Wanda was a member of Harmon’s Creek Church of the Nazarene and she loved her church family and reading.

She is survived by her son Tommy (Patty), of Poca, her sister Betty Gillespie, of Columbus, OH, 2 granddaughters Jesica Lane Haskins (Justin) of Taylorsville, KY, and Jamie Lane, of WA, 2 great grandchildren Jocelyn and Jillian Haskins, and the mother of her granddaughters Tammy Lane Sisler, of FL, and a host of church family and friends.

Celebration of Wanda’s life will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home with Pastor Colton Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Lane Family Cemetery, Poca.

Gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 Monday at the funeral home.
