

William Karl Becher 81 of South Charleston left this world on August 31, 2025, at home after a short battle with cancer. Born on January 30, 1944, in Charleston, WV. Willam (Bill) was an Air Force Veteran, a Master Mason of Nitro Lodge 170 A.F & A.M., a 50-year member of the Scottish Rite, a member of the Beni Kedem Shriners and a long-time member of the United Methodist Church. Retiring from Union Carbide/Dow Chemical.
He was a great provider and mentor for his family (husband, father and grandfather).
He was preceded in death by his wife Carla Poe Becher: parents, William and Florine Becher and his sister Martha McDaniel. To include his stepmother Janice Becher and brother Michael McClure.
Surviving are his three children: Christopher Becher, Lydia Keeney and Amber Stutler (Scott). Six grandchildren: Amanda, Tyler (Emily), Miranda (Bobby), Lakin (Josh), Trucker (Alyssa) and Aaron (Kayla). And great-grandchildren: Ayden, Mila, Korbyn, Ava, Cypress, Marcellus, Gemma and Asher. And a host of nieces and nephews.
Surviving as well are his siblings. Donald, Vickie, Jill, Charles, Nancy and Larry. To also include his long-time companion, Mary Lane.
Celebration of Williams’s life will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Tyler Mt. Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Tyler Mt. Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Gathering of family and friends will be from 12:00 until time of service.
